The start of the French and Indian war was in 1754 between Britain and France. British soldiers begun building a fort along the Ohio River. However, the French soldiers drove the British off the land to build Fort Duquesne. Fort Necessity was built when George Washington arrived with more soldiers. The French attacked Fort Necessity forcing Washington to surrender. That started the French and Indian war. The British retreated when Edward Braddock was sent to attack Fort Dequesne. James Wolfe, a British general, captured New France's capital, Quebec. That was the turning point. Both Wolfe and the commander were killed. Britain won most of the important battles. The British has shaped our independence.
